Nutritional Values Compared
A recent study suggested that there is no more value in eating organically grown food than foods grown via traditional farming methods. The problem with the hoopla over organic vs non-organic is that this study addressed nutritional values only. Yes, carrots grown organically have the same nutrients than other carrots. That comes as no surprise to me. But, what about all of the additional chemicals the non-organic foods pass on to the consumer. I've tasted some kind of chemical in carrots that I purchased from local stores. In order to taste the chemical, the chemical content must be very high. I don't want such pollutants floating around in my cellular system. So, I pay a higher price for "organic" vegetables or grow my own. Thus, I may avert some of the high price of poor health later.
